You just got your HALODISC 2 Custom Numbers—clean look, custom badge, motorsport vibes.
But even the best mods can wear down fast if used the wrong way.
Here’s how to avoid the 7 most common mistakes we’ve seen from real owners—and keep your HALODISC 2 looking sharp for the long haul.
01 / Skipping the cleaning before install ❌
Do this instead: Wipe down your wheel surface—especially the center bore—before installing.
Why: Dirt, grease, or brake dust can affect how well the cover locks in place. Clean = secure fit.
02 / Over-tightening or under-tightening ❌
Do this instead: Use the included torque tool and turn clockwise until you hear/feel a click.
Why: Too loose = risk of rattle. Too tight = risk of damage. That click? It's just right.
03 / Forcing the center cap in with tools ❌
Do this instead: Line up the red center cap, then press it in with your palm. You’ll hear a “click.”
Don’t use a mallet, wrench, or hammer.
04 / Using harsh or corrosive cleaners ❌
Do this instead: Use warm water and pH-neutral car soap only.
Avoid: Acidic wheel cleaners, degreasers, bleach-based sprays.
Why: These can eat into the finish or damage the embedded number/message.
05 / Taking it through an automatic car wash ❌
We get it—it’s convenient. But brush-style car washes are a no-go.
Why: Repeated impact from spinning brushes may loosen the center cap or scratch the surface.
Better: Hand wash or touchless pressure rinse.
06 / Letting hard water dry under the sun ❌
Do this instead: Wipe the covers dry after washing to avoid water spots or mineral residue.
07 / Using screwdrivers to remove the cover ❌
Do this instead: Use the included removal tool—gently twist and lift.
Never pry with metal tools. It can damage the edge or paint.
Quick Daily Care Do's & Don’ts
-
✅ Use microfiber towels and neutral soap
-
✅ Low-pressure water is fine
-
✅ Soft brushes work well in grooves
-
❌ No steel wool or abrasive pads
-
❌ No acidic / alkaline wheel sprays
💡 FAQ: Got Questions? Here’s What Most Owners Ask
Q: Can I use an automatic car wash? A: Not recommended. Brush impacts can cause damage over time. Stick to hand wash or touchless wash.
Q: Will the text or number fade? A: Nope. It’s deeply embedded into the material, not printed or stickered. Fade-resistant, weather-proof.
Q: Can I remove and reinstall by myself? A: Yes! The included tool makes it easy. Follow the official guide below for step-by-step instructions.

I’m having the same problem with the inner part moving at the same time as the outer part meaning I can’t get one of the wheel covers off my car. Any advice please or help?

I was able to purchase and install a new set for my Model X, a few days ago. Absolutely great product. Very happy with it. I have concerns about reports I’m seeing of the center caps falling off for different customers. Aside from the great tips you provided above, are there any do’s and don’ts that would help keep center caps from falling off?
Thanks!

I bought these for my model y and they look great. But when I m trying to remove to fill air, one of the wheels cap screw is not unscrewing . Seems the inner part is moving along with outer one. What do I do?
